Pregnancy and Childbirth

Being pregnant is an extraordinary time in a woman's life. It is also a special time for a husband and wife to share together. The more you think about childbirth, the more remarkable it seems.

I still remember being pregnant for the first time. We have three children now, all grown up. But, it is a period of time in your life that your remember with such clarity and vividness. These days, there are so many tools that are available for you to get connected with. I wish we had taken advantage of some of the Childbirth videos, or recording moments of the entire pregnancy through the birth. We have a lot of photos, but we really like the videos now.

Mychildbirthguide.com is a resource where you can get information about all of the aspects of pregnancy and childbirth, including things like recording this time in your life, and all the details surrounding the miraculous event of child birth. Our childbirth resources are ever expanding (bad pun), as we include more information on childbirth videos, Lamaze, The Bradley Method, early pregnancy, and more.

One of the themes you will hear all throughout this website, is staying fit, getting your exercise, and staying healthy. There are a couple of great magazines you can pick up at Barnes and Noble and staying fit during your pregnancy. You will never regret taking the time to walk, swim, and do some differet techniques to stay in shape. You will bounce back faster and believe me, you will need the energy and stamina when it comes time to deliver.

I did not worry too much about fitness with my first child. I gained over 50 pounds and had almost 48 hours of hard labor. My second and third child I stayed fit, gained about 30 pounds, and had six and three hours of labor, respectively. I was able to lose the pregnancy weight much faster, and if nothing else, I felt much, much better. I can't say for sure whether my fitness helped shorten the labor, some of that is out of your own control, but I know I wished I had stayed in better shape with my first baby.

Finally, you will be hearing from many different authors who are experts in their field when it comes to pregnancy and childbirth. Use these resources, have a lot of fun, and cherish this time, whether it is your first child, your tenth child (ugh), or anywhere in between.
